May I share your blog post with him?
The Afghan people have so little but, you still see smiles.
Keep smiling! And yes, serving our country is really something to be proud of. I'm sure you are a great Mom, and hopefully your very kind husband will be showing your little girl pictures of her each night to remind her of Mommy. I've started to read your blog. I promise I will read all the posts. I, too, am also a Mom from Bowie, Md. Happy Holidays, and just know that you have a few fans out here who will read your blog with much interest. < wink,wink>Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-39872961503396813.post-71850492796970501432008-11-27T09:33:00.000-06:002008-11-27T09:33:00.000-06:00Thanks for the update! I'm also sending other interested parties the link.

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm sure Nazia will have lots of love around her today:)

Be well!karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14004404986443610330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-39872961503396813.post-25794160117789234332008-11-20T14:35:00.000-06:002008-11-20T14:35:00.000-06:00I've read what you've written so far and thank you...I've read what you've written so far and thank you for it. Since I am not a mom (of the human kind anyway), I can only imagine how you feel based on what you share. I can and do vividly imagine how exciting it is and how much it makes your heart just smile and fill with love to see the videos/pictures and hear the updates about "E".! Your "husband" is fantastic to keep that coming!!!

I also really appreciate you sharing the description of the "ceremony", the story about the soldiers without food, and elaborating on the children. While I know that is not the purpose of your blog and much of it very sad, I hope you will consider writing more in that vein from time to time.

Those stories make the reality of what is going on personal and ads a whole different level of understanding, empathy, and inspiration to "supporting our troops"! That's important because when left to watch the news or read the paper, it's easy to get wrapped up in intellect and the politics of it all.

As far as being thankful goes, I am. It also sounds like that is one of the true gifts a soldier gets to keep forever.

I'm proud of your strength and equally proud of your softness. You, nor the war in Afghanistan, is anywhere close to being forgotten.

Until next time:)karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14004404986443610330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-39872961503396813.post-10700237717196356732008-11-20T12:36:00.000-06:002008-11-20T12:36:00.000-06:00Thank you for sharing these stories. It is unusual to get such warmth and insight from a blog, but I would expect nothing less from some of our nations finest and you are certainly one of those. You have an extremely lucky husband and I am sure he misses you as much as you miss him. That thought you have to cling to. And your dear little girl might not "know" you but will not forget who you are. One day, she will undoubtedly be as proud of you as are you are her.
